Europe Warns Pakistanis About Fake Embassy Contact Details and Visa Scams

The European Union (EU) Delegation to Pakistan has alerted citizens about a scam involving fraudulent embassy listings and misleading visa information. Criminal groups are reportedly creating fake entries on Google Maps to deceive Pakistanis seeking visa or consular services.

In a statement released on X, the delegation highlighted the presence of false listings for European countries’ embassies in Islamabad. These fake entries include incorrect contact details and fraudulent phone numbers designed to trick individuals into falling for the scam.

“This is a serious scam by criminal organizations,” the EU Delegation stated, urging the public to use only official embassy websites for accurate information. They emphasized that EU member state embassies’ websites are the sole reliable source for visa and consular services.

The delegation also clarified that it does not handle passport or visa processing, which falls under the responsibility of individual EU member states’ embassies and consulates.

Pakistani citizens were advised to avoid relying on Google Maps or unofficial embassy directories and instead directly contact the relevant embassy or consulate for correct visa procedures. This precaution is essential to ensure safe and legitimate travel to European countries.
