Two armed motorcyclists robbed foreigners at gunpoint in Islamabad’s upscale F-8 Sector on Friday, snatching mobile phones and cash, according to 24NewsHD TV.
Police reported that the suspects stole five mobile phones and Rs. 3,000 from four Chinese nationals within the Margalla police station limits before fleeing the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Separately, the Islamabad Police made notable progress this year under Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. According to the Operations Division, 24,387 individuals were arrested, and stolen cash and valuables worth Rs. 2.38 billion were recovered.
Key achievements include the arrest of 4,038 suspects involved in property crimes, and recovering stolen goods valued at Rs. 1.75 billion. Additionally, 657 criminal gangs were dismantled, leading to the recovery of 429 vehicles and 763 motorcycles.
The police also intensified efforts against illegal arms possession, arresting 1,980 suspects and confiscating 148 Kalashnikovs, 43 guns, 1,674 pistols, and over 18,800 rounds of ammunition.
In anti-narcotics operations, 1,811 drug traffickers, including 45 targeting educational institutions, were apprehended. Authorities seized 417 kg of hashish, 533 kg of heroin, 24 kg of crystal meth, 458 narcotic tablets, and 18,931 liters of liquor.
