All You Need to Know About Oppo Find N5/OnePlus Open 2

Oppo is gearing up for a big start to 2025, with a flurry of device launches planned alongside the global debut of the Reno 13 series. Among the highly anticipated releases is the Oppo Find N5 foldable phone, which has been the subject of new leaks and speculation.

Recent hints from Oppo’s Find Product Manager, Zhou Yibao, on Weibo have provided insights into the timeline for the Find N5’s release. A fresh leak has now revealed some alleged specifications of the foldable device, painting a picture of what could be a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Find N3.

Display and Design

Oppo Find N3

According to the leak, the Oppo Find N5 is expected to feature a 6.4-inch external display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. When unfolded, the device will reportedly offer a generous 8-inch main screen with a crisp 2K resolution and the same 120Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming, multitasking, or media consumption.

Performance and Battery

Rumors suggest that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor will power the phone, a top-tier chipset intended for flagship devices. To support this powerhouse, Oppo appears to have included a large 5,700 mAh battery, which will feature 80W wired charging and possibly 50W wireless charging. This marks a significant improvement over the Find N3, which had a smaller 4,805 mAh battery, 67W wired charging, and no wireless charging capability.

Storage and Camera Features

The foldable will come with memory configurations that offer up to 16 GB of RAM and a substantial 1 TB of storage. The camera system draws directly from Oppo’s successful Find X8 series, promising an impressive triple-camera arrangement on the rear. This includes a powerful 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens.

Several Upgrades Coming

These rumored upgrades suggest that the Oppo Find N5 will improve on multiple fronts compared to the Find N3, offering a more refined user experience. However, as with all leaks, it’s important to take this information with caution, as Oppo has not yet confirmed any details.

Global Availability and Rebranding

The official launch will occur after the Chinese New Year in February 2025. The company will likely rebrand the device as the OnePlus Open 2 for international markets. Renders of the OnePlus Open 2 suggest that its design will remain largely consistent with its predecessor, with minor changes such as a different camera placement.
