KP Introduces Rs. 370 Million Financial Aid for 37,000 Special Persons

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched a Rs. 370 million financial aid program to assist 37,000 individuals with special needs across the province. Each eligible recipient will receive Rs 10,000 through this initiative.

The program was introduced at a ceremony at the KP Chief Minister’s Secretariat, attended by Social Welfare Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah, lawmakers, special persons, and other guests.

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed financial aid cheques and announced a key change in official language. The term “disabled” will no longer appear in official documents and will be replaced with “special persons.”

He emphasized that people with special needs possess unique talents and must be given opportunities to thrive. The CM reiterated the government’s duty to care for vulnerable groups and ensure they receive support.

He also revealed that the government is gathering data on special persons, widows, and orphans to integrate welfare initiatives into the regular budget. Other announcements included providing electric wheelchairs to government employees with disabilities, increasing the dowry fund, and introducing a ration card scheme for widows and senior citizens.
