LDA Continues Crackdown Against Illegal Properties in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 77 properties on Wednesday in a major operation targeting illegal commercial activities and encroachments in LDA Avenue-I and other areas. The action carried out under the directives of DG LDA Tahir Farooq, involved removing signboards and clearing encroachments from over two dozen properties, many of which had previously received multiple notices.

The operation in LDA Avenue-I was overseen by Umar Sohaib, Director of LDA Avenue-I, and Shafqat Nawaz Kang, Director of Town Planning, with assistance from the LDA Enforcement Squad and local police.

As part of its broader campaign, the LDA extended its crackdown to illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters across the city. Properties in Allama Iqbal Town, Model Town Extension, Shah Jamal, and Gulshan Ravi were targeted, with a total of 77 properties sealed. These included private schools, clinics, restaurants, beauty salons, shops, offices, and stores.

• Shah Jamal and Gulshan Ravi: 37 properties sealed

Chief Town Planner Asad ul Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali supervised the broader operation.

DG LDA Tahir Farooq reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to continuing the crackdown on illegal commercial buildings, fee defaulters, and encroachments without discrimination. “We will ensure compliance with the law and maintain urban order in Lahore,” he stated.

The LDA’s ongoing efforts aim to address long-standing issues of illegal commercial activities and encroachments, reinforcing the city’s development and planning regulations.
