Defending champions, Islamabad United roared in style at the historic Huzoori Bagh in Lahore for the PSL Draft ceremony.
The team’s captain, Shadab Khan, alongside Salman Ali Agha, and head coach Mike Hesson stole the show as they graced the red carpet in shalwar kameez paired with chic crimson red varsity jackets emblazoned with each player’s kit number and name alphabet.
The jackets, with their bold white lettering and striped cuffs, added a contemporary flair to the traditional attire, perfectly encapsulating the team’s “desi burger” swagger.
While Shadab Khan and Salman Ali Agha’s jackets donned their kit numbers 7 and 67 respectively, head coach Mike Hesson had the number “3” on his jacket, a reference to Islamabad United’s three PSL titles.
While the fashion and pageantry were highlights of the day, Islamabad United also made waves with their strategic picks during the PSL Draft. The three-time champions bolstered their squad with key international players, including Australian all-rounder Matthew Short, South African batting maestro Rassie van der Dussen, and West Indies’ star all-rounder Jason Holder. These additions are expected to strengthen the team’s already formidable lineup as they aim to defend their title in the upcoming season.
