Foldable smartphones are advancing rapidly, and Oppo seems to be leading the way. The upcoming Oppo Find N5 draws attention for its remarkably slim design, rumored to be nearly as thin as a USB C port. If the claims are accurate, the Find N5 could become the world’s thinnest foldable phone once it launches, and even one of the thinnest phones overall.
Images shared on Weibo by Oppo’s product manager, Zhou Yibao, showcase the phone’s sleek profile. The iPhone 16 Pro measures 16 mm in thickness, and the Oppo Find N5 is expected to be thinner. If its design is slimmer than the Honor Magic V3 (4.4 mm per side when unfolded), it will also outdo the rumored iPhone 17 Air, which measures 5.5 mm.
Here is a side-by-side comparison shared by Oppo.
Oppo Find N5 Specs
Despite its slim profile, the Oppo Find N5 does not appear to compromise on features or performance. You can expect the phone to support wireless charging, including a larger battery and a Hasselblad-tuned camera for enhanced image quality. It will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, rumored to have 7 cores instead of the typical 8, offering robust performance while maintaining efficiency.
Performance benchmarks from Geekbench reveal that the Find N5 significantly outperforms competitors like the Galaxy S25 Slim in multi-core tests, leading by nearly 2000 points. This suggests that Oppo has managed to combine slim design with powerful hardware, addressing concerns about overheating or performance limitations in such thin devices.
Oppo plans to launch the Find N5 in China as early as February, with a potential global unveiling at MWC in March, possibly under the name OnePlus Open 2. If these details hold, Oppo’s Find N5 will not only set a new standard for foldable design but also demonstrate that thin devices can still deliver high performance and advanced features.
