All You Need to Know About Oppo’s Next Big Foldable

Oppo has officially started teasing its next foldable phone, the Oppo Find N5, and has confirmed its launch in February 2025 in China. Pete Lau (Liu Zuohu), Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, stated that the Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest foldable phone, making it a highly anticipated addition to the foldable market.

Design and Build

Oppo has focused on delivering an impressively slim design with the Find N5. The teaser reveals that the phone will measure less than 4mm when unfolded and stay under 10mm when folded, making it thinner than a standard pencil, which is about 7mm thick.

In addition to its sleek design, Oppo has incorporated a titanium frame, which enhances durability without adding unnecessary weight. Furthermore, Oppo plans to make the Find N5 more resilient by including an IPX8 water resistance rating, a significant improvement over its predecessor, the Find N3, which lacked water resistance entirely.

Hardware and Battery

Oppo will equip the Find N5 with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring fast and efficient performance. The phone will run on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, providing users with the latest software experience. Moreover, Oppo has included a 6,000 mAh battery, supporting 80W or 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging for added convenience.

Screen and Camera

The internal screen will feature a 2K resolution while on the back, the redesigned camera module will house a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera capable of 3x optical zoom.

Global Availability Of Oppo Find N5

Oppo plans to release the Find N5 globally under the name OnePlus Open 2, expanding its reach to markets in the US, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia.

Additionally, Oppo is expected to launch the Oppo Watch X3 series alongside the Find N5 in February. In March 2025, Oppo will reportedly introduce the Find X8 Ultra and Find X8 Mini in China, further expanding its product lineup.
