Punjab Approves Development Schemes Worth Rs. 20 Billion

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) convened on Friday and sanctioned three development projects totaling Rs20.59 billion. Chaired by Barrister Nabeel Awan, Chairman of the Planning & Development Board, the 59th meeting endorsed several key initiatives:

  1. The Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) will be established through a comprehensive door-to-door socio-economic survey, which is projected to cost Rs 9.17 billion.
  2. The cost of Phase II of the dualisation project for the Lodhran-Kheror Pacca-Mailsi-Vehari Road, which covers the remaining 20km, is estimated at Rs4.35 billion.
  3. Rehabilitation of the Gujrat-Sargodha Road, spanning 94.3km from Km 27.90 to 122.20, for Rs 7.06 billion.

Dr. Asif Tufail, Secretary of the Planning & Development Board, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, and board members and senior officials were present at the meeting.
