Pakistan is Hosting Asia Regional Youth Ministers’ Meeting Starting Today

Pakistan to host the 4-day Commonwealth Asia Youth Summit and Asia Regional Youth ministers’ meeting starting from January 27 (today) till January 31, 2025.

The Commonwealth Asia Youth Summit and Asia Regional Youth ministers’ meeting will be held in Islamabad with the theme “Delivering a common future: connecting, innovation and transforming”.

The Prime Minister will take oaths from youth members in Islamabad on January 28, 2025.

It is pertinent to note that the government on December 18, 2024, notified the Prime Minister’s National Youth Council comprising 9 government officials, including the PM, as patron in chief.

The council has 100 youth members within the country and 13 youth members from outside Pakistan who have done remarkable jobs in their fields.

The government has also appointed Ali Khawaja, a 19-year-old young overseas Pakistani, as a member (overseas) of the Prime Minister’s National Youth Council,”. He is the founder of Busybrains, a neurodiversity care startup.

Ali Khawaja will represent overseas Pakistani youth in the United Kingdom, and he will represent youth across Pakistan and the UK, acting as a bridge between youth-led civil society and the public and private sectors.

The youth members including Ali Hamza shall work to advance the pro-youth development and empowerment agenda outlined in the National Youth Development Framework by advising on policies and ensuring the meaningful inclusion of young people in decision-making processes at all levels of government.
