Pakistan Squad for Champions Trophy 2025 Officially Revealed

Pakistan has finally announced their 15-man squad for the highly-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025. The same squad will also be used in the upcoming tri-series involving South Africa and New Zealand.

Pakistan was the last remaining team to announce their squad for the mega-event with the other seven teams already announcing their squads a while back.

The Men in Green will be led by wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan, who will be hoping his team to continue their red-hot form in the ODI format. Much to the relief of the Pakistani fans, explosive opener, Fakhar Zaman has made his long-awaited comeback to the side, after fully recovering from his ‘illness’.

Furthermore, all-rounder Khushdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf have also made their return to the white-ball setup. Khushdil’s impressive performances in the domestic circuit and the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has earned him a call-up to the squad.

Along with Faheem Ashraf, Pakistan has announced four other seamers, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Hasnain being included in the 15-man squad.

It will be interesting to see who will open with Fakhar Zaman as no other regular opener has been made a part of the squad. Saim Ayub’s injury had put Pakistan in a selection headache as three potential partners for Fakhar Zaman were rumored to be included with Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Imam-ul-Haq all missing out on the squad.

It is expected one of Mohammad Rizwan or Babar Azam will open alongside Fakhar.

There was no place in the squad for Sufyan Muqeem, who could consider himself unlucky, with Abrar Ahmed the only recognized spinner in the squad.
