Arbab Niaz Stadium Edges Closer to Hosting PSL 10 Matches

The action-packed Pakistan Super League (PSL) could finally be heading to Peshawar for the first time, as the Arbab Niaz Stadium has undergone an ICC inspection ahead of being unveiled as a potential host for the upcoming season.

According to reports, an ICC delegation recently visited the Arbab Niaz Stadium to assess whether the venue meets international standards for hosting cricket fixtures. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively exploring the possibility of bringing top-tier T20 action to Peshawar as part of its ongoing efforts to expand the league’s footprint across the country.

If approved, Peshawar will host two PSL matches for the first time in the league’s history, marking a major step forward for cricket in the region. The city has long been a stronghold of passionate cricket fans, with Peshawar Zalmi—one of the league’s most popular franchises—boasting a massive local following. Zalmi’s team owner Javed Afridi has already been avidly working on renovating the infrastructure of the Arbab Niaz Stadium, with the ultimate goal of having Peshawar host an international team’s tour in the coming years.
