Xiaomi 15 Ultra Set to Launch With Best Camera on a Phone

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil the Xiaomi 15 Ultra later this month, and anticipation is building. A leaked poster on Weibo has revealed the official launch date for China, while a hands-on video has surfaced, giving a clearer look at its updated design and enhanced camera system.

Launch Date and Global Availability

According to the leaked poster, Xiaomi will officially introduce the Xiaomi 15 Ultra on February 26 at 7 PM (local time) in China. Shortly after, the smartphone is expected to make an appearance at the MWC 2025 tech event in Barcelona, which is scheduled to take place from March 3 to 6. Given this timeline, a global release may follow soon after the China launch.

Specs and Features

The latest hands-on video aligns with earlier leaks, confirming a redesigned quad-camera setup featuring Leica branding and a pill-shaped LED flash, a noticeable shift from last year’s circular design. As for the camera system, Xiaomi has made some significant upgrades.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will boast a 50MP LYT-900 main sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens, a 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom and macro mode, and a 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the 32MP OmniVision OV32B sensor is expected to enhance selfie and video call quality.

Moving on to the display, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED LTPO panel with a micro-quad-curved design, 2K resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth and immersive viewing experience. Additionally, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor will provide faster and more secure unlocking.

The smartphone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15. Xiaomi plans to offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage in China. For global markets, the device may come with a 16GB+512GB option.

Battery life is another strong point. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will come equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting performance. Furthermore, it will support 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest-charging flagship devices on the market.

What to Expect

With its powerful hardware, premium camera setup, and cutting-edge display, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most exciting smartphone launches of 2025. As the official unveiling nears, the MWC 2025 event will likely confirm more details. Based on current information, Xiaomi’s new flagship aims to compete strongly in the high-end smartphone market.
