Children Banned from Going to Hajj

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced a new regulation prohibiting children from accompanying pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season.

The decision aims to safeguard children from potential risks associated with the overwhelming crowds during the pilgrimage. “This measure is implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of children and prevent any harm during Hajj,” the ministry stated.

Priority for First-Time Pilgrims

As in previous years, priority for Hajj participation will be given to individuals who have not yet performed the pilgrimage.

Registration for the 2025 Hajj season is now open for Saudi citizens and residents through the Nusuk app and the official online portal. Pilgrims must verify their details, add companions, and submit exemption requests, including those related to accompanying mahrams.

New Payment Plan for Domestic Pilgrims

The ministry has also introduced a flexible installment plan for domestic pilgrims. Hajj packages can now be paid in three installments:

• First installment (20%) – Due within 72 hours of booking
• Second installment (40%) – Due by Ramadan 20
• Final installment (40%) – Due by Shawwal 20

Bookings will remain unconfirmed until the final payment is completed, with invoices issued for each installment.

Additionally, the ministry emphasized the importance of early preparation for Hajj package sales, which have already begun on the Nusuk platform. Pilgrims are advised to configure their preferred packages, top up their e-wallets, and finalize their selections promptly.
