The Sindh government has decided to take strict action regarding the fitness and registration of all vehicles. This decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon shared details of the decision during a press conference on Thursday.
He stated that all vehicles, including motorcycles, must have a valid fitness certificate. Heavy vehicles will be the first priority, and those without certification will not be allowed on the roads. A 30-day grace period has been given for all vehicles to obtain the required certificate.
To regulate water tankers, the Water Board has introduced a barcode system. These barcodes will only be issued to vehicles that meet the required fitness standards and operate from authorized hydrants.
Vehicles coming from other provinces will also have to obtain a fitness certificate from Sindh authorities. Certificates issued by Punjab, Balochistan, or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not be considered valid in Sindh. This step ensures that only roadworthy vehicles can operate in the province.
Showroom owners have been strictly instructed not to deliver unregistered vehicles. Any vehicle purchased must be registered before it leaves the showroom. If someone buys multiple cars for investment, they must be transported using a trailer or car carrier instead of being driven individually.
