This New Hacker Tool Activates Windows and Microsoft Office for Free

A prominent hacking group known as Massgrave has unveiled a groundbreaking method to permanently circumvent Microsoft’s digital rights management (DRM) system, letting you activate paid Windows products for free.

The technique, dubbed “TSforge Activation,” can be considered the most significant advancement in Windows and Office piracy, yet Microsoft’s response has been notably muted. The tool can extend Windows 10 update support beyond Microsoft’s October 2025 end-of-life deadline.

The tool’s scope extends across multiple versions of Windows and Office products. Security researchers note that this development could have far-reaching consequences for corporate software licensing and Microsoft’s long-term product support strategies, though the full impact remains to be seen.

In 2024, the hacker group first unveiled its Microsoft Activation Scripts (MAS) project, claiming it could completely disable Microsoft’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) protections. A recent update, MAS 3.0, introduced the TSforge Activation method. This update also refines existing activation scripts with patches and improvements.

Microsoft calls its current DRM technology the Software Protection Platform (SPP). This intricate system relies on several parts, storing product activation details in two crucial files: the “physical store” (data.dat) and the “token store” (tokens.dat). TSforge cleverly bypasses these protections by injecting fabricated data into these files. This manipulation tricks the SPP into accepting a counterfeit product key or confirmation ID as genuine.

TSforge’s activation method is compatible with a wide range of Microsoft products. It supports Windows 7 and all subsequent versions, including Windows Server from 2008 R2 up to 2025. It also works with Office versions 2013 through 2024, provided they are installed on Windows 8 or later.
