KP Announces Paid Internship for Hundreds of Nursing Graduates

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet has approved a one-year paid internship program for 650 BS Nursing graduates under the Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA).

The interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs31,000 and undergo training at teaching hospitals across the province.

In an official statement, Ihtesham Ali, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Health, noted that this marks the first time a paid internship opportunity has been introduced for BS Nursing graduates. He explained that the need for such a program arose following the launch of the BS Nursing program at PHSA-affiliated colleges, prompting swift action from the Health Department to secure Cabinet approval.

“Just a month ago, I assured protesting students that a paid internship would be established within a month. Today, we have honored that promise,” Ihtesham Ali stated.

In addition, the Cabinet approved the appointment of a new Chairman for the PEPOS board and approved its reconstitution.
