This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown was nothing short of electrifying, featuring surprise returns, unexpected alliances, and some hard-hitting action. Here’s everything that went down on Friday Night SmackDown:
In a shocking turn of events, Jimmy Uso stunned Drew McIntyre after the Scottish Psychopath spent too much time berating him in the corner. Just when it seemed McIntyre had the upper hand, Uso countered an Alabama Slam into a winning pinfall. However, the celebration was short-lived as McIntyre unleashed a brutal beatdown on Uso post-match, leaving the crowd in disbelief.
The night kicked off with a humorous backstage segment featuring Carmelo Hayes, The Miz, and R-Truth. Truth’s surprise partner for their tag match was none other than LA Knight, who Truth hilariously thought was short for Louisiana.
The match had its comedic moments, but Hayes quickly showcased his skills with a springboard clothesline. After a break, Knight tagged in and energized the crowd with his offense. The match culminated in a chaotic finish when Shinsuke Nakamura interfered, helping Hayes and The Miz secure the victory with a combined finisher.
Tiffany Stratton, the WWE Women’s Champion, addressed her upcoming challenge from Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair but was interrupted by Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. After some trash talk, Stratton faced LeRae in the ring, impressively taking out both Jax and LeRae with a stunning moonsault.
Post-match, however, Jax and LeRae attacked Stratton, only for WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus to come to her rescue—though she too fell victim to the duo.
In a surprising turn, a scheduled match between Naomi and Liv Morgan never got underway as Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez ambushed Naomi and Bianca Belair before the bell rang. The chaos left fans eager for a showdown in the future.
The highlight of the night came when The Rock made a grand entrance, discussing the potential return of WrestleMania to New Orleans. He invited Cody Rhodes to the ring, where he expressed his desire for Rhodes to become “his champion,” suggesting a corporate alliance that left the crowd unsure whether to cheer or boo. The segment was intriguing, showcasing The Rock’s ability to blur the lines between heel and babyface.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY faced off against Pretty Deadly in a highly anticipated tag team match. After a strong start, the match devolved into chaos when Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins interfered, leading to a disqualification. The Street Profits took out both Pretty Deadly and #DIY, leaving the tag team landscape in disarray.
In the main event, a six-man tag match was altered to feature Damian Priest and Braun Strowman against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The match was hard-hitting, showcasing the power of both teams. However, a miscommunication led to Fatu accidentally superkicking Sikoa, which allowed Priest to hit his finisher, South of Heaven, for the win.
