Karachi residents will continue to experience gas shortages during Ramadan, as the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a new schedule aimed at ensuring supply during Sehr and Iftar.
Despite the end of winter, uninterrupted gas supply remains a challenge, forcing many households to rely on costly LPG as an alternative.
According to an SSGC spokesperson, efforts are being made to provide consistent gas during key meal times in the holy month.
He explained that the country’s gas reserves are depleting by nearly 10% each year, worsening the supply-demand gap. To manage pressure, gas profiling will take place from 9 AM to 3:30 PM and again from 10 PM to 3 AM throughout Ramadan.
As per the announced schedule, gas will be available between 3:30 PM and 10 PM for Iftar and dinner preparation, and from 3 AM to 9 AM for Sehr and breakfast. However, there will be no supply during the profiling hours.
The spokesperson assured consumers that these measures are designed to provide convenience for meal preparations during the holy month.
