IESCO Announces Electricity Supply Schedule for Ramadan

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) assured uninterrupted electricity supply across its service areas during Ramadan.

With power demand reaching 1,206 megawatts (MW), IESCO confirmed that adequate electricity allocation from the national grid is in place. According to the company spokesperson, officials are actively monitoring the situation around the clock to address any outages.

He emphasized that IESCO is fully prepared to meet the increased energy needs during Ramadan. More than 126 complaint centers are operational, with staff on high alert to promptly resolve any issues. A central control room is overseeing real-time supply, demand, and distribution to prevent disruptions.

Consumers experiencing outages can report them through local complaint offices or via helpline 118. The spokesperson urged residents to use these channels for swift resolution, highlighting that priority is given to critical areas during Sehri and Iftar.

Through proactive measures, IESCO aims to ensure a stable power supply throughout Ramadan. With real-time monitoring and enhanced complaint services, the company is focused on minimizing disruptions for consumers. “Our teams are dedicated to resolving issues as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, multiple cities experienced severe gas shortages during the first Sehri of Ramadan 2025, making it difficult for residents to prepare their pre-dawn meals.

According to ARY News, gas distribution companies had promised uninterrupted supply during Sehri and Iftar. However, on the first day of Ramadan, residents in several cities, including Karachi and Rawalpindi, reported a complete lack of gas.

In Karachi, affected areas included Rifah Aam Society, Malir, Nazimabad, Gulbahar, and Ranchore Line. Similarly, Rawalpindi’s Sixth Road, Satellite Town, Dhoke Kashmirian, Dhoke Pracha, Service Road, Dhoke Kala Khan, Khurram Colony, and Sadiqabad faced disruptions.

The gas shortage forced many households to seek alternatives for Sehri, with residents turning to hotels and roadside eateries. In some areas, people had no choice but to start their fast without Sehri.

The crisis on the first day of Ramadan has raised concerns about gas supply reliability throughout the holy month, as both Sui Northern Gas Company and Sui Southern Gas Company failed to uphold their commitment to uninterrupted provision.
