Major Players Miss Out on Pakistan Football’s Preliminary Squad for Asian Cup Qualifiers

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially announced a 27-man preliminary squad for the upcoming Asian Cup Qualifier match against Syria. A few key players like Adil Nabi and Etzaz Hussain are missing from the squad, as well as star winger Otis Khan.

The PFF has made arrangements to organize a national team training camp in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, ahead of their crucial AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifying match against Syria on March 25, 2025, in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. Stephen Constantine will lead the side as head coach. The camp is expected to provide the national team with adequate preparation time and facilities to gear up for the high-stakes encounter.

The Pakistan football team has been placed in Group E of the qualifiers, alongside Syria, Afghanistan, and Myanmar, with matches scheduled to be played on a home-and-away basis. The match against Syria will mark Pakistan’s first step in their campaign to qualify for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
