Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 is in full swing, and Xiaomi has already made waves with its latest innovations. The company has introduced a groundbreaking modular concept phone designed for photography enthusiasts and officially launched its high-performance electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. All the products Xiaomi launched at MWC 2025 were showcased at the Xiaomi Booth on Day 3 of the event, offering attendees a firsthand look at the company’s latest technological advancements.
Xiaomi has once again pushed the boundaries of smartphone photography with its new modular phone concept, featuring an attachable lens module dubbed the Modular Optical System. Designed to cater to professional and enthusiast photographers, this device integrates cutting-edge hardware with a user-friendly modular approach.
At the heart of this innovation is a 100MP Type 4/3 sensor, the largest sensor ever seen in a smartphone, paired with a 35mm f/1.4 lens. Unlike traditional smartphone cameras, where lens limitations can hinder creativity, Xiaomi’s modular approach allows users to swap out lenses for greater photographic versatility.
The lens module attaches to the phone body using a magnetic system, eliminating the need for cumbersome mechanical mounts. One might expect a lag in transmission with a wireless setup, but Xiaomi overcomes this challenge with its proprietary 10Gbps LaserLink system, ensuring seamless, high-speed data transfer. This ensures a real-time, lag-free shooting experience comparable to built-in smartphone cameras.
Xiaomi has managed to integrate an autofocus motor within the modular system while maintaining a compact profile. Remarkably, the lens module does not require a separate power source—it draws energy directly from the smartphone, making it plug-and-play with no need for additional pairing.
Xiaomi’s automotive ambitions continue to expand with the official launch of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, a high-performance electric vehicle (EV) built for speed and track performance. First revealed as a prototype last year, the SU7 Ultra is now available for purchase in China.
Equipped with Xiaomi’s proprietary triple HyperEngine electric motors, the SU7 Ultra delivers staggering performance:
The powertrain consists of two V8s motors on the rear and a single V6s motor at the front, ensuring superior torque distribution and handling.
Xiaomi has designed the SU7 Ultra for enthusiasts who demand peak performance straight from the factory. The vehicle features dual-chamber air springs with adaptive dampers, allowing drivers to fine-tune ride stiffness for various driving conditions. Its torque-vectoring control system adjusts torque at an impressive 500 times per second, ensuring optimal handling and stability. To complement its high-speed capabilities, Xiaomi has equipped the SU7 Ultra with carbon ceramic brake discs and Akebono fixed calipers, providing exceptional stopping power.
Additionally, Xiaomi introduces the Racetrack Master app, a specialized tool that offers real-time lap results, driving mode adjustments, and post-race analytics, allowing drivers to track and refine their performance on the track.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is powered by a 150 kWh Qilin 2.0 battery pack sourced from CATL, seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s structure using Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology for enhanced efficiency. The battery delivers a maximum discharge power of 1,330 kW and features a 5.2C charging multiplier, enabling a full charge in under 12 minutes. With a CLTC range of 630 km, the SU7 Ultra offers both high performance and extended driving range. To ensure longevity and reliability, the battery incorporates dual large-surface active cooling for efficient heat dissipation and a bulletproof coating on the underside, providing enhanced durability and resistance against damage.
In addition to the Modular Optical System and the SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi showcased an extensive lineup of products at its booth. These included the Xiaomi 15 Series, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, Xiaomi Watch S4, Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro, and the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro. Xiaomi also teased its Electric Scooter 5 Max, highlighting the brand’s expansion across multiple smart technology categories.
Xiaomi’s showcase at MWC 2025 reaffirmed its commitment to innovation across various technology segments. From pioneering advancements in smartphone photography to pushing boundaries in the electric vehicle industry, the company demonstrated a bold vision for the future. With a strong presence at one of the world’s most significant tech events, Xiaomi continues to solidify its position as a leader in cutting-edge technology and consumer electronics.
