Pakistan’s Two Rising Stars Register for The Hundred

With The Hundred Draft set to take place on March 12, Pakistan’s ace pacer, Naseem Shah has officially registered for the tournament. He will be joined by Pakistan’s explosive opening batsman, Saim Ayub, who will likely have recovered from his injury before the start of the tournament. Both players, Naseem and Saim Ayub have registered for the draft at a reserve price of £120,000 (Rs. 4.29 crore) and £78,500 (Rs. 2.8 crore) respectively.

Among the notable names putting themselves forward for the draft are Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and England’s veteran fast bowler James Anderson. Additionally, Australian opener David Warner is looking to make his debut in the tournament after going undrafted in 2024, adding further intrigue to the upcoming draft.

The eight teams participating in The Hundred 2025 have announced their retentions ahead of this year’s player draft, and for the first time, none of the Pakistani players who played last season were retained by their respective franchises. Players like Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Imad Wasim have yet to announce their intent to participate in the lucrative tournament in England.
