Pakistan Football Cancels Training Camp in Saudi Arabia for Asian Cup Qualifiers

The Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Normalisation Committee has decided to cancel plans for a training camp in Saudi Arabia and relocate the preparation session for the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers match against Syria. The decision comes after concerns were raised over potential visa delays and other logistical hurdles during the busy Ramadan Umrah season in Saudi Arabia.

Officials explained that the timing of the camp coincides with a period when travel processes in Saudi Arabia tend to slow down due to the influx of pilgrims. With visa approvals expected to be slower than usual and logistical arrangements likely to be complicated, the committee opted for a more secure and hassle-free environment to ensure the national team’s preparations remain uninterrupted.

PFF’s training camp, which was originally scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia, will now take place in Lahore. Although the facilities at home may not meet foreign standards, the move is seen as a strategic step to keep the team focused and well-prepared for the critical qualifiers match against Syria.

Pakistan will eventually travel to Saudi Arabia to take part in the fixture scheduled for March 25.

As the national team gears up for the upcoming match, the decision underscores the importance of a well-organized training environment that can help foster team spirit and tactical readiness. With the qualifiers match against Syria on the horizon, this timely adjustment is expected to provide the players with a more stable platform to fine-tune their strategies and build momentum.

As preparations continue, the team and coaching staff are optimistic that this change will translate into improved on-field performance, giving Pakistan a better chance to secure a strong result in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
