As the demand for clean, reliable energy continues to rise, a new residential wind turbine could reshape the way homeowners think about renewable energy. Designed by Dutch startup The Archimedes, the LIAM F1 UWT is a compact, ultra-quiet wind turbine that fits seamlessly into urban environments—and may even rival solar panels in practicality.
A New Approach to Home Wind Power
Unlike traditional turbines, which are often noisy and visually intrusive, the LIAM F1 UWT measures just 1.5 meters in diameter and weighs under 100 kilograms. Its spiral rotor design allows it to capture wind from any direction, making it efficient even during unpredictable weather.
Critically, it operates at under 45 decibels—quieter than a typical conversation—making it suitable for rooftops and residential areas where noise is a concern.
Complementing, Not Replacing, Solar Power
While solar panels remain the top choice for residential renewable energy, they rely heavily on sunlight. In contrast, the LIAM F1 UWT can generate power day or night, regardless of light conditions.
It produces between 300 and 2,500 kWh annually, depending on location and wind conditions. When paired with solar panels, homeowners can reduce dependence on the grid and achieve near energy independence.
A few of these, along with some solar panels, can ensure that every household gets free electricity whether it’s day or night; rainy or sunny.
A Fit for Urban Sustainability
The turbine’s small footprint and low noise make it ideal for dense cityscapes aiming to reduce carbon emissions. As cities around the world search for scalable green energy solutions, the LIAM F1 offers a practical, space-efficient option.
Its adoption could help integrate renewable systems into urban planning without disrupting aesthetics or livability.
Looking Ahead
The Archimedes has hinted at future projects, including marine turbines and hybrid wind-solar systems. These innovations could further diversify energy options and help address the limitations of solar power in colder, darker months.
The LIAM F1 UWT highlights the growing need for flexible, multi-source energy solutions. As governments and individuals push toward sustainability, devices like this turbine could play a major role in shaping a cleaner, quieter future.

Can doesn’t mean will . Also whet to find such winds to use it ?
This is not for stress with low winds
کہنا کیا چاہا رائے ہو
A claim by a company doesn’t mean this device is real . That’s what I wanted to say
I suggest “Happy guy” can be more suitable instead of “Angry Guy” if you agree. Khush rehein. 💖
No reason to be happy for now
Please tell me where i buy this solar system very expensive
It doesn’t exist
These are just claims practically it’s very difficult you can watch the video on YouTube.
Wind energy is another source of green energy generation at the house hold level. There is need to educate the people about this energy and reduce the cost of wind turbines.
China ,if produce it on mass level this source of green energy will be in the range of those who have already installed the solar panels.
How much It costs?
With which air speed,it can produce 2500 kWh
It can’t . It’s just a claim by a Dutch company . Not real
It’s not viable at locations where windspeeds are quite low, which is true for many inland metropolitan areas.
Given the energy policy uncertainty and deliberate distortion of policies due to rentseeking by vested interests in the sector, consumers need to diversify supplies from multiple sources, including wind energy.
Moreover, the energy consumers need to to proactively manage and optimize their energy demand over energy sources and storage options, including batteries.
Finally, energy sector reforms are needed and the govt should get out of energy production and distribution business.
Poor article. One should always mentions its cost and where to buy. If it was a insta post, i bet thousands of comments asking how and where to buy.
That’s bcz it doesn’t exist . It’s just a claim by the Dutch team .
Has no proof in actual world
In my opinion this article need to do more research work. As a potential user critical info . A) comparison of equipment cost and installation costs between solar panels. B) supplier contact
C) viability of locations for its installation. D) Aftrr sale service E) what is the savings in electricity cost w.r.t grid and Solar panel. Etc is to be made available.
Yai Wind turbine milegi khn sai yai tou bata dete.
Doesn’t exist . It’s a claim by a Dutch company. Not consumer market
So Nice
There’s a difference between “Can Generate” and “Generates” its hard to match efficiency of Solar Panels because they can generate on almost all days, where as wind turbine needs breeze and wont work in Bhaadon months where there’s no breeze
This news outlet is incompetent.
Very good
What am I reading to see? Thank God I’m blind.😒🤣😁😎
Title says nothing: kWh is generated over a time span, not at specific times
No consumer comment.
Credibility to claim, probably nil. Cut the crap.
Where to buy and how much?
Don’t question each other on this topic any more.
Let me tell you that this is real gadget for energy purpose.
Just the difference is it’s main use function which needs wind flow areas as like European or northern areas of world where no probability of sunlight on luck while on the other hand, Asia where heat is more capable against winds through out the year solar panels are more efficient than wind energy system.
Regards,
This problem of low wind speed can be solved via employing low RPM motor coupled with generator for generation of clean and reliable energy. We have been working on and Insha Allaha positive results will come soon.
Nice effort well written. Well articulated
How can I order it to Nigeria and what is the cost
This small wind turbine system offers a practical alternative to traditional solar panels, especially in Pakistan. Unlike solar, it provides 24/7 power generation, making it more reliable where wind conditions allow. It’s also cost-effective, space-efficient, and capable of producing up to 2500 kWh, making it suitable for urban setups. While wind dependency and maintenance are factors to consider, if the affordability and efficiency claims hold true, this could be a strong renewable energy option for the region.
And you have proof of that ?
This is Imran Abbas

How much wind pressure is required to operate the wind mill?
I want this wind system
Can it provide electricity for running a lift+water pump to lift water from basement water tank to the rooftop water tank (almost 70 feet)+ a sludge pump to the main sewage pipe about 18 feet up?
This does exist as few days back when I went to get info about Solar panel from a vendor ,he said he has installed these on experiment basis in our area alongwith solar panels so these do exist. More research needs to be done regarding its efficiency and comparison with solar panels.
assalamualaikum…..does anybody have the video… share please!…tqvm
It’s good then solar
Where can we buy it and what’s the vost
What about the availability, capacity and the cost in Pakistan. What is it’s useful life.
Seriously, Good that you copy pasted this info, but, it costs more than a 15kw system with a liPO4 battery to store generation..Poor information
