Peshawar Zalmi Sign This Star Batter Ahead of PSL 10

After losing Corbin Bosch, Peshawar Zalmi has added Australia’s rising middle-order batter Mitchell Owen to their squad for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, set to begin on April 11. The 23-year-old, who recently made headlines for his explosive performances in the Big Bash League (BBL), joins the former champions in the Supplementary category.

Owen gained widespread attention earlier this month after leading the Hobart Hurricanes to their maiden BBL title. He smashed a joint-fastest century in the final against the Sydney Thunder, cementing his reputation as a promising talent. Despite registering for the PSL 2025 draft, Owen initially went unpicked. However, Peshawar Zalmi have now roped him in to bolster their squad.

The franchise announced the signing on social media, sharing an animated poster of the Australian batter with the caption: “Supplementary draft pick. All-Rounder Mitchell Owen joins the Zalmi squad for [PSL 10].”

Owen’s inclusion comes in the wake of South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch’s controversial withdrawal from the Zalmi squad. Bosch, who was picked in the Diamond category during the PSL 10 draft, breached his contract to join the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 30-year-old is reportedly set to replace injured pacer Lizaad Williams in the Mumbai Indians squad for the IPL, which runs from March 22 to May 25.

In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has served Bosch a legal notice, accusing him of breaching his contractual obligations. “The PCB management has outlined the repercussions of his departure from the league and expects his response within the stipulated time frame,” the board said in a statement, adding that no further comments would be made on the matter.
