The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly made a major decision about the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during a Governing Council meeting in Lahore—one that could significantly shape the competition’s future.
According to a well-known sports journalist, the PSL will soon be set up as a standalone company, independent of PCB control. This move is expected to streamline operations and address a longstanding demand from stakeholders. The meeting also brought several other notable updates for fans and franchise owners alike.
The decision had been on the horizon following multiple high-profile changes within the PCB, with a number of staff transitioning from board roles to PSL management. An independent management structure is seen as beneficial for the league, offering greater autonomy and encouraging innovative solutions to address key areas of need.
One of the main topics discussed during the meeting was an exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators, scheduled for April 8 in Peshawar. Organizers hope this fixture will open the door to more PSL matches in the city, pending security clearance and the completion of logistical arrangements—both expected to be finalized by the weekend.
In addition, the upcoming 10th edition of the league marks the expiration of current franchise agreements. Before renewing these deals, the PCB intends to hire an evaluation company to reassess franchise fees and consider the possibility of adding two new teams in Season 11.
Many see these latest moves by the PCB as part of a broader effort to improve the viewing experience and boost the league’s profile. Establishing a dedicated organization solely focused on the PSL could help it stand out in an increasingly competitive global franchise cricket landscape.

About 4 months ago, i suggested a player to one of the director online by gmail, and Alhumdulillah that player was included in PCT odi squad for Nz series! That player was Wasim jr who is a brilliant bowler and a great tail ender hitter!
We also want such other talented player like,”Mustaq Ahmed Kalhoro”
