Here’s When the First Solar Eclipse of 2025 Will Occur

The first solar eclipse of 2025 will take place on March 29 and will be visible in parts of Europe, Asia, North and South America, and the Atlantic Ocean. However, it will not be visible in Pakistan or India.

The second solar eclipse of the year is expected on September 21.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, partially or completely blocking sunlight. There are four types of solar eclipses: total, partial, annular (Ring of Fire), and hybrid.

  • Total Eclipse: The Moon completely covers the Sun.
  • Partial Eclipse: The Moon covers only part of the Sun.
  • Annular Eclipse (Ring of Fire): Happens when the Moon is at its farthest point from Earth, appearing smaller and leaving a bright ring of sunlight around it.
  • Hybrid Eclipse: A rare type that shifts between total and annular, depending on the observer’s location on Earth.

During a hybrid eclipse, some regions experience a total eclipse, while others see an annular eclipse due to the Moon’s changing distance from Earth.
