The CDA chief instructed officials on Monday to prepare the PC-1 for a cable car and chairlift operation from Daman-e-Koh to Saidpur. The project aims to boost tourism and fuel Islamabad’s economic growth with project-generated revenue.
He also directed the release of developed plots in Sector E-12 to owners post-Eidul Fitr, pending clearance of all dues.
Chairing separate meetings with a Chinese consultant delegation and CDA members, including Planning, Finance, and Environment officials, Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa highlighted the cable car and chairlift as pivotal attractions for Islamabad’s tourism, affirming project revenues would fund city development.
Randhawa urged the swift completion of feasibility studies for both systems and emphasized safety reviews, advocating meticulous PC-1 preparation and methodical planning.
The Chinese delegates lauded Randhawa’s tourism drive, pledging technical support.
Regarding sector development, Randhawa prioritized Sector C-14’s infrastructure completion by June, with IESCO ensuring electricity. He stipulated plot possession in C-14 pre-final payment and accelerated development in E-12 and new sectors post-Eid, resolving hurdles promptly.
For Sector I-12, he mandated immediate central area cleanup and project completion. Sector C-15 and C-16 progress was reviewed, with Randhawa vowing personal visits for issue resolution.
