Xiaomi Poco F7 Ultra Brings a Complete Flagship Grade Package for Under $700

Poco has introduced the F7 Ultra, marking its entry into a higher-tier performance segment with upgraded hardware and features. Unlike previous F-series models, this is the first in the lineup to use the latest generation of Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, and it includes additional enhancements aimed at improved cooling, graphics performance, and imaging.

Design and Display

The Poco F7 Ultra features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 12-bit color and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. For dimming, the panel uses 3,840 Hz PWM with support for 16,000 brightness levels. The display also includes a high touch sampling rate of up to 2,560Hz.

Poco uses its proprietary glass protection called Poco Shield Glass, and the phone is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. The device measures 8.4mm thick and weighs 212g. It comes in black and yellow color options.

Internals and Software

At its core is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is a step above the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in terms of processing and graphics power. It is paired with the VisionBoost D7 chip, which handles frame generation, resolution upscaling, and HDR support. These features are available in games and supported video apps.

The F7 Ultra also uses a cooling system with a 5,400mm² heat pipe designed to manage temperature under extended workloads, which should help with gaming. Other hardware features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, NFC, IR blaster, and dual-frequency GPS.

Cameras

The phone has a triple-camera setup on the back. The main sensor is 50MP with a 1/1.55” size and optical image stabilization. The telephoto camera also uses a 50MP sensor with a 2.5x optical zoom and up to 5x digital zoom. This lens also supports tele-macro shots. The ultra-wide camera is 32MP with a 120° field of view. A 32MP camera is also present on the front for selfies.

You get up to 8K video recording at 24 fps and 4K 60 fps as well.

Battery and Pricing

The Poco F7 Ultra includes a 5,300 mAh battery supported by the Surge G1 and Surge P3 chips. It supports 120W blazing-fast wired charging, which fully charges the phone in just 34 minutes, and 50W wireless charging. Battery health is rated to maintain 80% capacity after 1,600 full charge cycles.

The phone is available in two configurations: 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage for $649, and 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage for $699.
