Faheem Ashraf Believes Pakistan Needs to Fix This Area for Success

Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has urged his teammates to prioritize team unity and focus on collective effort following their 84-run defeat to New Zealand in the second ODI. The loss has added to Pakistan’s growing struggles, but Faheem believes the key to turning things around lies in fostering a stronger sense of camaraderie within the squad.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Faheem Ashraf highlighted the importance of players supporting one another rather than focusing solely on individual performances. “Every player is giving their best to help the team win,” he said. “But if we focus solely on our personal performances—thinking that once we’ve done our part, our job is over—that’s not the right approach. Success comes from backing each other as a unit, not just performing in isolation.”

The all-rounder’s comments come at a time when Pakistan’s performances have been under scrutiny, with the team struggling to find consistency.

Faheem Ashraf, however, remains optimistic about their ability to bounce back in the coming months. He stressed that maintaining the right mindset and playing competitive cricket are crucial to achieving success. “As long as you’re playing, winning isn’t impossible,” Faheem Ashraf added. “We’ve seen it happen before. If we keep playing good cricket with the right intent, the results will follow.”

Pakistan will have one last shot at salvaging some pride when they meet New Zealand in the third ODI on Saturday. Following that, the PSL will provide some much-needed respite to the players before more international duties.

Faheem Ashraf’s call for unity serves as a reminder that success in cricket hinges on collective effort rather than individual brilliance. With major tournaments on the horizon, the team will need to heed his advice and work together to regain their winning form.
