According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, single and double-cabin vehicles have been bulletproofed and will be deployed during special operations against criminals in the Kacha (riverine) areas. The bulletproofing has also been done to protect officers stationed at border outposts from attacks by militant extremists.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) is being equipped with bulletproof vehicles to conduct raids against terrorists and disruptive elements. The Crime Control Department (CCD) has also received similar vehicles.
He added that Special Branch personnel are being provided bulletproof vehicles to assist in reporting and other sensitive tasks. This initiative is expected to enhance the effectiveness of police operations against terrorists, criminal elements, and outlaws. The use of bulletproof vehicles will strengthen the police’s ability to carry out impactful operations against bandits in the Kacha regions and extremist attacks on border posts.
