Reports of mass cheating during the ongoing 9th and 10th grade annual examinations continued to emerge for the second consecutive day across various cities in Sindh, including Karachi, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, and Larkana, according to 24News HD TV Channel.
In Karachi, the ninth-grade computer science paper was leaked just 10 minutes before the exam began, with both the question paper and its solution circulating widely on WhatsApp groups. Despite a prior ban on mobile phones inside examination halls, enforcement appeared lax, and no action was taken against those responsible.
In Larkana, similar issues were reported during the English paper, with students openly using mobile phones and other technological aids to cheat. The use of such devices continues unabated, undermining the integrity of the examination process.
In Jacobabad, 22,000 exam centers were reportedly set up for approximately 11,000 students. However, despite the enforcement of Section 144 to prevent unauthorized entry, unrelated individuals were seen freely accessing examination venues.
Nawabshah also witnessed repeated incidents of malpractice. On the second day of exams, the Class 10 Chemistry paper and General Science paper were found circulating on social media platforms. Answers were reportedly sold via WhatsApp for Rs 500 per paper. Students were seen using mobile phones during the exams, while local officials and educational department monitoring teams failed to ensure discipline.
Large numbers of unauthorized persons were also observed outside examination centers in Shaheed Benazirabad, with no visible presence of education department raiding teams.
The recurring leaks and lack of administrative control have raised serious concerns about the credibility of the examination process and the effectiveness of measures meant to curb cheating across Sindh.
