Fakhar Zaman Still Thinks He’s Not at His Best Yet

Lahore Qalandars’ opener, Fakhar Zaman, delivered another match-winning performance, scoring a commanding 76 off 47 balls in his team’s emphatic victory over Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium. Despite his explosive innings, which included six fours and five sixes, Fakhar maintained that he is yet to reach his full potential.

Speaking after being named Player of the Match for the second consecutive game, Fakhar reflected on his form and the team’s strategy. “In the last match, I said I didn’t play in full flow. If I say the same thing today, it would be ungrateful. This is my second Man of the Match, but I still feel I haven’t played in that kind of flow yet,” he remarked.

Fakhar, who has been open about his struggle to find rhythm since returning from injury, emphasized the importance of partnerships and adapting to match conditions. “As an opener, whichever opener scores for any team, it increases their chances to win. We thought it was a 170 wicket but credit goes to our bowlers to restrict them. My role has always been of an aggressor no matter which side I play for. It wasn’t coming easily on the bat so we planned to build partnership and we thought if we keep wickets in hand, we can make runs in the end,” he explained.

Just days earlier, Fakhar Zaman had top-scored with a brisk 67 off 39 balls against Quetta Gladiators, yet admitted he never quite found his rhythm.
