Weather Department Warns of Another Hailstorm in Islamabad

Just a day after a powerful hailstorm battered Islamabad, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that more unstable weather could be on the way.

Speaking to ProPakistani, a PMD official said there is a chance of dust storms, strong winds, and possibly another spell of hail in the capital tomorrow. However, he clarified that the intensity is expected to be lower than the storm that struck the city on Wednesday.

The sudden hailstorm had caught residents off guard, damaging hundreds of vehicles and shattering windows across multiple sectors. The storm also affected several buildings, including a section of the iconic Faisal Mosque, while roads and green belts were briefly blanketed in ice.

Meteorologists believe the hailstorm was triggered by a sharp shift in weather patterns, including a drop in temperature during an ongoing heatwave.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay alert and avoid parking vehicles in open spaces, especially as further weather activity may occur in the coming hours.
