Karachi Kings Pacer Fined for His On-Field Outburst

Karachi Kings’ hard-fought two-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in a tight contest at the National Bank Stadium on Monday night has been soured after the PSL sanctioned Aamer Jamal for his actions during the fixture.

Aamer has been fined five percent of his match fee for a breach of the PSL Code of Conduct during the match. The incident occurred in the 15th over of Zalmi’s innings. After dismissing Hussain Talat, Aamer walked up to the batter and made a comment that match officials deemed provocative. He was found guilty of violating Article 2.5 of the code, which deals with using language or gestures that could provoke a reaction from a dismissed batter.

The on-field umpires, Faisal Khan Afridi and Paul Reiffel, reported the incident before Aamer Jamal accepted the charge and the penalty proposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed, meaning there was no need for a formal hearing.

While the offense is considered minor (Level 1), PSL rules are clear about maintaining discipline and sportsmanship during matches. This is the second time Aamer has been fined heavily in recent months, which puts him under even more scrutiny.

Aamer Jamal has participated in three of Karachi Kings’ five PSL 2025 contests, picking up 2 wickets for 48 runs. If he cannot keep his emotions in check, there is a very real possibility that he may be barred from taking part in future matches.

Karachi Kings will be hoping to put this episode behind them as they prepare for their next PSL 2025 game against Quetta Gladiators.
