Suzuki Unveils Affordable Wagon R 2025

The Suzuki Wagon R 2025 offers a practical and affordable option for those seeking a spacious and fuel-efficient hatchback. With a reputation for reliability and value, this compact model continues to meet the needs of budget-conscious drivers with its latest update.

Powertrain & Performance

The Wagon R is still powered by a compact 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 67 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque. Available in both manual and AGS (Auto Gear Shift) variants, it delivers a balanced drive suited for city commutes.

With fuel economy figures ranging between 14–16 km/L in urban settings and up to 22 km/L on the highway, it’s ideal for daily use without breaking the bank.

Dimensions & Practicality

The vehicle’s design favors tall-boy proportions, giving it a roomy interior despite its compact length of 3600 mm. A generous boot space of 300 liters and a turning radius of just 4.6 meters make it agile in tight city streets. Its 170 mm ground clearance is decent enough to handle most urban road conditions without scraping.

Design & Exterior

Built on Suzuki’s lightweight Heartect platform, the Wagon R sports a boxy yet modern design. Key features include a chrome trapezium grille, halogen headlamps, and optional fog lights on higher trims. Alloy wheels come with the VXL and AGS variants, while the VXR rides on standard steel rims. The car is offered in five colors, ranging from Solid White, Silky Silver, Graphite Grey, Pearl Black, Red and Blue.

Interior & Features

Inside, the Wagon R is built for utility. It offers sufficient headroom and legroom, practical storage spaces, and basic conveniences like power steering and manual air conditioning. Higher variants bring in more perks, including a 9-inch infotainment display, power windows, central locking, and keyless entry. Upholstery is beige in the VXR and black in the higher trims.

Safety Features

While basic in terms of safety, the Wagon R includes essentials like an immobilizer, 3-point seatbelts, and a driver-side airbag in the AGS variant. ABS is optional. Compared to rivals like the Toyota Vitz or Hyundai i10, the safety equipment is minimal, especially in lower trims.

Pricing (Ex-Factory)

  • VXR – PKR 3,214,000 (~$11,500)
  • VXL – PKR 3,412,000 (~$12,200)
  • AGS – PKR 3,741,000 (~$13,300)

While the 2025 update doesn’t bring many new features, the AGS remains the best-equipped version for those preferring automatic driving with added comfort.

Availability & Final Thoughts

Pak Suzuki halted new bookings for the Wagon R in March due to slowing sales, but the Wagon R remains available at dealerships while stocks last. The new 2025 variant is now available internationally, but its local launch is unlikely, considering the minor upgrade the Alto received a few days ago.
