LESCO’s New Mobile App Will Let You Submit Meter Readings Yourself

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) is soon going to launch a mobile app that will let you submit your electricity meter readings yourself. The app is called ‘Apna Meter, Apni Reading’, and it was announced by the LESCO CEO Ramzan Butt while speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

There are no details or screenshots of the app available as of yet, but we will get to hear more once it is officially launched.

In his address, the CEO emphasized the growing consensus that the nation’s survival hinges directly on the viability of its power sector. He noted that addressing fundamental directional issues in the power industry would naturally resolve related challenges.

According to Ramzan Butt, authorities have implemented a Rapid Response Force specifically designed to swiftly restore electrical service following disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions or other factors. Butt recognized the essential contribution of business leaders, crediting their electricity purchases as vital to maintaining economic momentum.

He rejected claims of overbilling and over-reading, stating that Lesco is actively addressing all consumer concerns, including meter replacements and new connection services, directly at customers’ homes. He characterized Lesco employees as public servants whose primary duty is to maintain continuous electricity delivery. Butt also confirmed that Lesco faces no material shortages.

Additionally, directives have been issued to prevent tripping incidents on industrial feeders. When questioned about FIRs, he assured that Lesco is implementing safeguards against unwarranted actions targeting any individuals. He recognized that meter issues occasionally stem from industrial consumers’ lack of awareness and assigned meter monitoring responsibilities to meter reading personnel.
