The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has clarified that no official approval has been granted for the construction of new airports in Sukkur and Muzaffarabad, calling the reports on the matter premature.
In a statement, the PAA said that while a new airport in Sukkur is under consideration, it is still in the early stages of review.
Regarding Muzaffarabad, the PAA confirmed that no proposal for a new airport is currently being reviewed. “There is no airport project under consideration for Muzaffarabad at this time,” it said.
The PAA also emphasised that any reports claiming final approval for the construction of new airports in these cities should not be taken as official confirmation.
