Sindh Announces New Punishment for Riding a Motorcycle Without Helmet

The Sindh Police has announced stricter enforcement measures against motorcyclists riding without helmets.

Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi, issued a clear warning on Thursday, stating that the police will no longer tolerate violations of helmet laws.

He said authorities will begin impounding motorcycles on the spot if riders are caught without helmets.

The bikes will only be released once the rider returns with a helmet.

“We will impose stricter penalties on those not wearing helmets. Motorcycles will be impounded and only released once the rider brings a helmet,” said IG Ghulam Nabi. “We want traffic police to be public-friendly, but safety comes first.”

The IG also highlighted progress in ongoing efforts to curb street crime. He said over 400 suspected robbers have been arrested in recent police operations across Sindh.
