Is Punjab Forcing Teachers to Enroll Their Children in Govt Schools?

The School Education Department Punjab has confirmed that a notification making rounds on social media about admissions in government schools is fake.

The false notification, shared widely online, falsely claimed that all heads of government schools, teachers, and other employees in District Rawalpindi were required to enroll their children in government schools and submit an affidavit.

It also wrongly stated that while teachers previously worked in government schools but sent their children to private institutions, a new policy had been introduced to change this practice.

Meanwhile, confusion is growing over whether summer vacations in Punjab’s schools and colleges will start earlier than planned. Some media outlets reported that holidays would begin from June 1 due to the extreme heat, but officials say no final decision has been made yet.

According to the Punjab Education Department, a proposal for early vacations has been sent to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. However, they are still waiting for her approval, and no official notification will be issued until she gives the go-ahead.
