Pakistan’s Abdaal Muhammad Khan defeated India’s Atharva Nawarange 3-2 in the U-15 Boys Singles semifinal at the South Asian Regional Youth Table Tennis Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 26.
The match, held at Lainchaur Table Tennis Hall, ended with Khan winning the final set 10-6.
The 14-year-old from Lahore fought back after a shaky start, showcasing skill against Nawarange, a strong Indian contender with past U-15 titles in Karnataka.
Khan now advances to the final of the South Asian Regional Youth Table Tennis Championship against Nepal’s Suresh Tamang on April 28.
The championship, running from April 24 to 28, features U-15 and U-19 players from South Asia.
Pakistan has already secured three bronze medals in doubles events, boosting the nation’s hopes for a gold medal finish.
