The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started repair work on the KPT flyover, resulting in its closure for one month, traffic police officials confirmed.
Barriers have been placed to restrict access, and the repairs will be carried out in three phases across different sections of the bridge.
Due to the closure, heavy traffic congestion has been reported in the area, causing difficulties for commuters, said Traffic Section Officer (SO) Wali Muhammad Mastoi.
Traffic heading from Baloch Colony towards Qayyumabad is now being diverted underneath the flyover. Motorists travelling towards Defence must take a detour via Qayyumabad Chowrangi, added SO from Zaman Town.
Authorities have assured that the repair work will be completed within a month, after which the flyover will be reopened for public use.
