Omada C7 Could Be Pakistan’s Next Big Plug-in Hybrid

The Omada C7, a new plug-in hybrid SUV from Chery’s sub-brand, was recently showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025. The vehicle draws attention for its electric range, performance specs, and modern interior features. With Chery’s recent partnership with NextGen Auto (a subsidiary of Hyundai Nishat Motors), the C7 may eventually be introduced in the Pakistani market.

Powertrain and Range

The Omada C7 is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine combined with plug-in hybrid technology. It offers 95 kilometers of pure electric driving range and a total range of 1,250 kilometers when both fuel and electric power are used. It claims a fuel average of 17 km/l, offering a strong balance between efficiency and long-distance capability.

Exterior Design

Visually, the Omada C7 features a distinctive front grille inspired by crocodile skin, giving it a unique front-end look. It comes with 20-inch alloy wheels in either a machine finish or piano black. Charging ports are located on both sides of the vehicle. The rear includes a high-mounted brake lamp and a full-width integrated light bar, giving it a modern EV-like appearance.

Interior and Features

Inside, the SUV has Nubuck leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 15.6-inch rotatable infotainment screen. A 12-speaker Sony sound system provides high-quality audio, while additional features include a wireless phone charger and a head-up display. The unconventional, oversized steering wheel is designed for comfort and easy handling.

Additional Highlights

The vehicle includes practical features like automatic boot operation and fuel cap controls. While the displayed model is left-hand drive, a right-hand drive variant is expected for export markets.
