Microsoft Increases Price for Xbox Consoles, Games, and More

Microsoft has raised prices across its Xbox product range, citing global market pressures and rising development costs. The price hike affects consoles, accessories, and upcoming first-party game titles. These changes are effective immediately and apply worldwide.

The Xbox Series X has increased by $100 to $599.99, while its digital-only version now costs $549.99, up from $449.99. The Galaxy Black Special Edition with 2TB storage sees the biggest jump, a $130 increase to $729.99. The more budget-friendly Series S models also rise by $80.

Controllers and headsets are not spared. The standard Xbox Wireless Controller is now $64.99, up from $59.99. Higher-end models like the Elite Series 2 (Full) now retail at $199.99, a $40 jump. Both stereo and wireless headsets have also been marked up.

New first-party Xbox titles will now launch at $80, a $10 increase from the previous $70 standard. Microsoft has not confirmed which games will be affected first, but the change is expected to roll out during the 2025 holiday season.

Game Pass Remains Unchanged

Despite these increases, Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription remains at its current price. The company is positioning it as a value option for gamers, offering access to new releases without the burden of rising standalone title costs.
