E-Challan System is Launching Soon in Another Major City

In a bid to modernize traffic management and improve road safety, the Sindh Police have announced plans to roll out a faceless e-challan system in Karachi in the coming days.

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office on Monday, where several key decisions were taken regarding the formation and modernization of provincial traffic units.

During the meeting, traffic officials gave a detailed briefing on traffic accidents and proposed reforms to reduce them. A major highlight was the introduction of the e-ticketing system, which will allow challans (fines) to be issued digitally and delivered directly to violators’ homes—eliminating face-to-face interactions.

“This step will not only ease the process for the public but also ensure more transparent enforcement of traffic rules,” said IGP Memon. He added that new equipment like speedometers and speed guns will also be procured to detect and monitor speeding vehicles more accurately.

Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho noted that efforts are underway to engage with stakeholders and government departments to ensure the smooth implementation of traffic regulations. “Traffic police are the face of the department, and upgrading their operations is crucial,” he said.

The IGP also stressed the importance of better care for officers working under harsh weather conditions and emphasized the deployment of trained, public-friendly personnel on the roads.

Other long-term goals include setting up driving schools and enhancing vehicle fitness verification processes, both of which are expected to contribute to a safer and more efficient traffic system across Sindh.

Instead, we see senseless mushroom of drivers running around endangering safety of everyone with reckless driving and total unaware Ness to traffic rules hence compliance… Police and govt of Sind into high tech electronics , number plates scam of replacement, online license with out basic traffic rules teaching and now this e challans. Just see on every signal, police more into nabbing motorists than bikers that are absolute nuisance with unfair bikes

  • First E Challan system is being challenged in court as per news from social media, like yours.
Second there are more important issues that need to be addressed that are totally ignored by traffic police.
    1. Reverse wrong side traffic that can easily be observed every where in the city.
    2. Motorcycles without headlights number is increasing day by day.
    3. High beam head lights of cars and pajero type vehicles, no body taking actio against them.
    4. Unlike motorway cameras that are instant and mistake of driver shown to them on the spot here nobody knows when and where he was caught in Camera because most of them are hidden, there should be warned first but no option available.
    5. Last nit least these cameras were installed for safe city to decrease crime not for minting money, this is not a dignified approach implemented for public by Public Servants.
