List of Pakistani Cities Where India Attacked Last Night

In a serious escalation between nuclear-armed neighbors India and Pakistan, multiple Pakistani cities were targeted in missile strikes late Wednesday night, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s military media wing.

The strikes, carried out by India, hit several locations in Pakistan, including mosques and residential areas. The attacks come amid heightened tensions following a deadly assault on Indian tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir last month, which India has blamed on Pakistan-based militants.

Cities Hit and Reported Damage

1. Ahmadpur East, Bahawalpur

• Target: Subhan Mosque and four residential quarters
• Missiles Fired: 4
• Casualties: 5 killed, including a 3-year-old girl; 31 injured (25 men, 6 women)
• Damage: Mosque completely destroyed; nearby houses severely damaged

2. Muzaffarabad (Pakistan-administered Kashmir)

India claimed the strikes were directed at nine locations allegedly housing terrorist infrastructure. In response, Pakistan’s military stated that none of the targeted areas were militant camps and confirmed that six Pakistani sites were hit.

ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated in a media briefing on Wednesday morning that after last night’s “unprovoked” attack, India carried out another act by targeting and damaging the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project.

He questioned whether India intended to target Pakistan’s water resources, asking, “Do international and war laws permit attacking a country’s water reserves?”

Pakistan also said it had shot down five Indian fighter jets in retaliation. Indian officials have not confirmed the loss of the aircraft but four government sources in Indian Kashmir told Reuters that three Indian jets crashed in different areas of the region, with all pilots hospitalized.

The recent events mark the worst bout of fighting between the two countries in more than 20 years, raising concerns over the potential for further military escalation between the long-standing rivals.
