The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially decided to relocate the remainder of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 to Dubai, following a significant escalation in tensions between Pakistan and India.
The decision comes just a day after an Indian drone reportedly struck the Food Street area in Rawalpindi, situated mere meters from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium — one of the key venues for PSL 10. The stadium has been hosting matches in the tournament.
The PCB held an emergency high-level meeting with all relevant stakeholders shortly after the drone incident. The security breach prompted urgent discussions on the safety of players, officials, and spectators, with the options of shifting the tournament to Karachi or Dubai put on the table.
With national security concerns taking center stage, the PCB has now opted to move the tournament abroad, choosing Dubai as the safer and more logistically feasible alternative.
While an official announcement from the PCB is awaited, the report suggests that the decision has been finalized and preparations are underway for a swift transition.
The move is expected to impact schedules and logistics for teams and broadcasters, but cricket authorities are prioritizing safety amid the growing instability.
The PSL, Pakistan’s premier T20 cricket league, has previously been held in the UAE during earlier seasons when security conditions in the country were deemed unfavorable.
