PCB Postpones All Domestic Cricketing Events

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the postponement of three major domestic tournaments as a precaution due to the ongoing Pakistan-India conflict.

The President’s Trophy Grade-II, the Regional Intra-District, and the U19 One-Day competitions have all been suspended across Pakistan.

This development comes at a time when the domestic calendar was in full swing. All three tournaments serve as important platforms for talent identification and player development across various levels of the game. The PCB confirmed the decision in an internal communication to regional associations and stakeholders this week, emphasizing that the safety of players, officials, and support staff remains the board’s top priority.

The President’s Trophy Grade-II, a key event in the second-tier departmental circuit, was already underway in select venues. It features several departmental sides and often acts as a feeder for higher-tier competitions like the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

The Regional Intra-District tournament, a grassroots-level event allowing regions to assess local talent, has also been put on hold. Most significantly, the U19 One-Day tournament, which plays a critical role in identifying and grooming players for Pakistan’s junior national sides, has also been suspended.

The PCB is yet to issue a directive about the Women’s National T20 Cup taking place in Karachi.

While the PCB has not provided a revised schedule for any of the three tournaments, it is understood that the board is monitoring the situation closely and will reschedule the competitions when it is deemed safe and logistically feasible.

For now, regional associations and development units will have to continue training programs in controlled environments, with the understanding that competitions will resume once conditions allow.
