The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday announced major initiatives to improve Islamabad’s food and recreation infrastructure, including the revamp of the iconic Melody Food Street and the creation of a new food hub in the Blue Area.
The announcement came during a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA Headquarters. Senior board members and top officials attended the session, which focused on improving urban amenities and food quality standards across the capital.
Randhawa directed officials to modernize Melody Food Street with enhanced lighting, proper parking facilities, and stricter food safety inspections in collaboration with the Islamabad Food Authority.
“Melody Food Street is a landmark, and we want to ensure citizens enjoy high-quality food in a well-managed space,” Randhawa said.
He also revealed plans for a new food street in Blue Area, which will feature decorative landscaping, ambient lighting, and sufficient parking to accommodate large crowds.
